  1. 2006-09-11 Paul Jakma <paul.jakma@sun.com>
  2. * ripd.c: (rip_read) remove gratuitous use of mid-function
  3. declaration of vrecv, bug #278.
  4. * rip_routemap.c: (route_set_metric) underflow check needs to
  5. use signed, problem identified and diagnosed by Pavel
  6. Nikiforov in bug #293.
  7. 2006-06-29 Paul Jakma <paul.jakma@sun.com>
  8. * rip_zebra: (general) convert redistribute commands to use
  9. the auto-generated defines.
  10. 2006-05-04 Paul Jakma <paul.jakma@sun.com>
  11. * (general) Fixes for bugs #261 and 262. Thanks to
  12. Konstantin V. Gavrilenko <kos@arhont.com> for the problem
  13. reports, testing of a series of proposed patches and comment
  14. on the proposed changes in behaviour.
  15. * rip_interface.c: (ip_rip_authentication_mode_cmd) Parse all
  16. of the command before making any changes to configured state.
  17. * ripd.c: (rip_read) RIP version control should be absolute and
  18. always apply, fixes bug #261 by allowing RIPv1 to be disabled.
  19. Fix bug #262: If authentication is enabled, then
  20. unauthenticated packets should not be accepted. We do however
  21. make an exception for RIPv1 REQUEST packets, to which we will
  22. reply as RIPv1 can now be disabled fully, to allow ripd to
  23. still provide routing /information/ to simple devices.
  24. 2006-04-28 Andrew J. Schorr <ajschorr@alumni.princeton.edu>
  25. * ripd.c: (rip_update_process) Try to fix the logic for sending
  26. an updated on each connected network. The new code will
  27. attempt to send the update on each connected network, whereas
  28. the previous code seemed to be attempting to avoid sending
  29. more than one RIPv1 update on a given interface, but was coded
  30. incorrectly. The actual effect of the old code was to send
  31. an update only on the first connected address in the cases
  32. where the interface is not multicast, or RIPv2 is not being used.
  33. 2006-01-30 Alain Ritoux <alain.ritoux@6wind.com>
  34. * ripd.c: correct bug that allowed route learnt through RIP to take
  35. precedence over connectd routes
  36. 2006-01-19 Paul Jakma <paul.jakma@sun.com>
  37. * ripd.c: (main) return from main, not exit, cause it annoys SOS.
  38. 2006-01-17 Paul Jakma <paul.jakma@sun.com>
  39. * ripd.c: (rip_auth_md5) remove pdigest, not needed.
  40. Use a local buffer for the auth_str, where it can be properly
  41. nul padded. Do so, hence fixing MD5 authentication.
  42. Key looked up via key ring should be used in preference to
  43. the RIPv1 simple password, not other way around.
  44. No need to copy around digests, we can reference them
  45. directly.
  46. The auth_len received can't be trusted, some implementations
  47. lie (e.g. older ripd).
  48. (rip_auth_md5_ah_write) rename len local variable to doff
  49. to be consistent with other functions.
  50. (rip_auth_header_write) add the missing return.
  51. (rip_auth_md5_set) use the proper constructs to access stream.
  52. 2005-10-30 Andrew J. Schorr <ajschorr@alumni.princeton.edu>
  53. * ripd.c: (rip_response_process) Instead of calling
  54. rip_interface.c:if_valid_neighbor(), call the equivalent
  55. library function if_lookup_address().
  56. * rip_interface.c: (if_valid_neighbor) Remove function, since it is
  57. essentially equivalent to the if_lookup_address() library function.
  58. * ripd.h: (if_valid_neighbor) Remove function declaration.
  59. 2005-10-28 Paul Jakma <paul.jakma@sun.com>
  60. * Makefile.am: Add rip_interface.h, or else it doesn't get
  61. included in dists.
  62. 2005-10-26 Paul Jakma <paul.jakma@sun.com>
  63. * (general) static/extern functions and definitions.
  64. * rip_interface.h: new file, export the public functions from
  65. rip_interface.c
  66. * ripd.c: Update couple more functions to specify void
  67. explicitely.
  68. 2005-10-17 Vincent Jardin <vincent.jardin@6wind.com>
  69. * ripd.c: rip_create_socket() for each packet, it does not bind to the
  70. proper interfaces because we forget to use the from address when
  71. it is specified.
  72. 2005-10-06 Alain Ritoux <alain.ritoux@6wind.com>
  73. * rip_interface.c: Now the command "no ip rip split-horizon
  74. poisoned-reverse" just inhibates the poisoned-reverse effects
  75. but keep spli-horizon activ.
  76. 2005-10-01 Andrew J. Schorr <ajschorr@alumni.princeton.edu>
  77. * rip_zebra.c: (config_write_rip_redistribute): Remove local hard-coded
  78. table str[]. Replace str[] with calls to new library function
  79. zebra_route_string().
  80. * ripd.c: Remove local hard-coded table route_info[].
  81. (show_ip_rip) Replace uses of str[] with calls to new library
  82. functions zebra_route_char and zebra_route_string.
  83. 2005-09-29 Alain Ritoux <alain.ritoux@6wind.com>
  84. * rip_snmp.c: rip2IfConfReceive() sends values in conformance
  85. with RFC. Also PeerDomain is now set to a STRING type.
  86. * ripd.h: rip_redistribute_add() API includes metric and distance
  87. added field external_metric in routes.
  88. * ripd.c: rip_redistribute_add() API i.e. stores metric and distance
  89. Now allows a RIP-route to overcome a redistributed route coming
  90. from a protocol with worse (higher) administrative distance
  91. Metrics from redistribution are shown in show ip rip
  92. * rip_zebra.c: adapt to the rip_redistribute_add() API, i.e.
  93. provide distance and metric
  94. * rip_interface.c: adapt to the rip_redistribute_add() API
  95. * rip_routemap.c: no RMAP_COMPILE_ERROR on (metric > 16) usage
  96. rather a CMD_WARNING, because set metric ius shared with other
  97. protocols using larger values (such as OSPF)
  98. The match metric action takes first external metric if present
  99. (from redistribution) then RIP metric.
  100. 2005-09-28 Alain Ritoux <alain.ritoux@6wind.com>
  101. * ripd.c: use new md5 API
  102. 2005-08-16 Paul Jakma <paul.jakma@sun.com>
  103. * ripd.c: (general) Fix previous commit, broke multicast bind and
  104. hence setting of source port, which broke communication with
  105. non-borken ripd. Fix removes more stuff from rip_interface.c
  106. than it adds to ripd.c ;)
  107. (rip_create_socket) the to argument really is a from argument,
  108. rename it. Set the source port to RIP port unconditionally, it's
  109. required.
  110. (rip_send_packet) Set from address correctly for multicast.
  111. (rip_output_process) trivial: num can be BSS specified, rather
  112. than in body.
  113. * rip_interface.c: (rip_interface_multicast_set) strip out
  114. redundant stuff related to bind, which rip_create_socket does.
  115. Just make it set the multicast socket option, as per the
  116. interface concerned, no more.
  117. 2005-06-03 Paul Jakma <paul.jakma@sun.com>
  118. * ripd.c: (rip_create_socket) move it up so rip_send_packet
  119. can use it too. Make it static. Remove the getservbyname stuff,
  120. as RFC2453 3.9.2 says non-RIP port messages should be discarded,
  121. quagga doesnt accept them, no need to lookup port.
  122. Take a 'to' argument, if socket should be bound to something else.
  123. setsockopt_so_recvbuf might need privs, move it to the raised
  124. privileges section.
  125. dont forget to close the socket if bind fails.
  126. (rip_send_packet) use strncpy, just in case (address is under
  127. our control anyway, but still).
  128. dont duplicate rip_create_socket - just use it.
  129. (rip_create) rip_create_socket takes an argument now, modify.
  130. 2005-06-01 Paul Jakma <paul.jakma@sun.com>
  131. * rip_interface.c: Fix authentication, no-auth impossible to specify
  132. (rip_interface_new) default to RIP_NO_AUTH
  133. (rip_interface_reset) ditto
  134. (rip_interface_config_write) write out config for simple
  135. 2005-05-29 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  136. * ripd.c: (rip_output_process) fix error which crept in my
  137. previous rip auth untanglement commit - it had become impossible
  138. to not have authentication (even for v1).
  139. 2005-05-28 Hasso Tepper <hasso at quagga.net>
  140. * rip_routemap.c: Fix set_metric_addsub_cmd help, it's not about BGP
  141. metric.
  142. 2005-05-26 Hasso Tepper <hasso at quagga.net>
  143. * rip_routemap.c: In case of '0.0.0.0' used as 'nexthop', use sender
  144. address as nexthop in routemap.
  145. 2005-05-26 Hasso Tepper <hasso at quagga.net>
  146. * rip_routemap.c: Make "match interface" routemap command match both -
  147. in and out interfaces.
  148. 2005-05-11 Andrew J. Schorr <ajschorr@alumni.princeton.edu>
  149. * rip_interface.c (rip_interface_add): Need to call
  150. rip_passive_interface_apply (was already calling it in
  151. rip_interface_up).
  152. 2005-04-11 Andrew J. Schorr <ajschorr@alumni.princeton.edu>
  153. * rip_zebra.c (rip_redistribute_set, rip_redistribute_unset,
  154. rip_redistribute_clean): Change 2nd arg to zebra_redistribute_send
  155. from zclient->sock to zclient.
  156. 2005-04-02 Andrew J. Schorr <ajschorr@alumni.princeton.edu>
  157. * rip_interface.c: (rip_interface_delete) After deleting, set
  158. ifp->ifindex to IFINDEX_INTERNAL.
  159. 2005-02-04 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  160. * ripd.c: Untangle the construction of RIP auth data.
  161. (rip_auth_prepare_str_send) new helper function, prepare
  162. correct key string.
  163. (rip_auth_simple_write) new helper, write out the
  164. rip simple password auth psuedo-RTE.
  165. (rip_auth_md5_ah_write) new helper, write out the
  166. MD5 auth-header psuedo-RTE.
  167. (rip_auth_header_write) new helper, write out correct
  168. auth header data / psuedo-RTE.
  169. (rip_auth_md5_set) rip out the memmove and writing of the
  170. auth header psuedo-RTE. So that all that is left is to
  171. write the trailing auth digest, and update digest offset
  172. field in the original header.
  173. (rip_write_rte) rip out writing of RIP header, writing of
  174. simple auth data psuedo-RTE. Make it do what its name suggests,
  175. write out actual RTEs.
  176. (rip_output_process) remove the incorrect additional decrements
  177. of rtemax. Prepare the auth_str, which simple or MD5 auth will
  178. need. Move write out of RIP header and auth data to inside the
  179. loop. Adjust paramaters as required.
  180. 2005-01-30 Andrew J. Schorr <ajschorr@alumni.princeton.edu>
  181. * ripd.c: (rip_create_socket) Replace perror with zlog_err.
  182. 2005-01-30 Andrew J. Schorr <ajschorr@alumni.princeton.edu>
  183. * ripd.c: (rip_create_socket) Save errno before calling
  184. ripd_privs.change.
  185. 2005-01-04 Andrew J. Schorr <ajschorr@alumni.princeton.edu>
  186. * ripd.c: (rip_recvmsg) Use ZCMSG_FIRSTHDR instead of CMSG_FIRSTHDR.
  187. 2004-12-15 Andrew J. Schorr <ajschorr@alumni.princeton.edu>
  188. * ripd.c: (rip_read) Improve 2 error messages to show the source of
  189. the packet when the lookup fails.
  190. 2004-12-08 Andrew J. Schorr <ajschorr@alumni.princeton.edu>
  191. * *.c: Change level of debug messages to LOG_DEBUG.
  192. 2004-12-07 Andrew J. Schorr <ajschorr@alumni.princeton.edu>
  193. * rip_main.c: (main) The 2nd argument to openzlog has been removed.
  194. 2004-12-03 Andrew J. Schorr <ajschorr@alumni.princeton.edu>

  257. compatible size.
  258. (rip_interface_config_write) Teach it about md5_auth_len.
  259. _always_ write out the auth-length, so that everyone will get
  260. the setting in their config file, and hence allow for a future
  261. change of default for md5_auth_len to be less painful - every md5
  262. user will have this setting in their config file.
