  1. 2005-09-19 Hasso Tepper <hasso at quagga.net>
  2. * configure.ac: Test existance of strndup.
  3. 2005-08-25 Paul Jakma <paul@jakma.org>
  4. * configure.ac: Add -fno-omit-frame-pointer after -Os in default
  5. cflags, just to be sure.
  6. Fedora's readline library does not itself link to termcap, hence
  7. we must pass the result of termcap tests in via OTHER-LIBRARIES
  8. argument, otherwise the test of main in readline will fail due to
  9. missing termcap systems. On systems like Debian, -ltermcap
  10. is not needed for the readline test, because libreadline already
  11. links to it.
  12. 2005-08-25 Hasso Tepper <hasso at quagga.net>
  13. * configure.ac, vtysh/Makefile.am: Only vtysh needs to be linked
  14. against libreadline and friends.
  15. 2005-08-13 Paul Jakma <paul@jakma.org>
  16. * Makefile.am: (EXTRA_DIST) Add the trailing slash back in which
  17. greg left out - tools bits weren't being included in dist,
  18. which broke rpm builds :).
  19. 2005-08-10 Greg Troxel <gdt@fnord.ir.bbn.com>
  20. * Makefile.am (EXTRA_DIST): add INSTALL.quagga.txt, because people
  21. that patch releases need to know about autoconf required versions.
  22. 2005-06-30 Louis Lagendijk <louis.lagendijk@gmail.com>
  23. * configure.ac: Actually test whether libc has IPv6 support.
  24. 2005-06-28 Paul Jakma <paul.jakma@sun.com>
  25. * INSTALL.quagga.txt: GNU make is required now, because of manual
  26. automatic rules in solaris/Makefile.am. (If someone knows how
  27. to do these in a better way..).
  28. GNU AWK is required for CVS checkout builds.
  29. 2005-06-01 Paul Jakma <paul.jakma@sun.com>
  30. * NEWS: bgpd work queues and ripd auth-mode change
  31. 2005-05-07 Yar Tikhiy <yar@comp.chem.msu.su>
  32. * configure.ac: Check for OSes which support passing ifindex in
  33. struct ip_mreq.
  34. 2005-04-29 Paul Jakma <paul.jakma@sun.com>
  35. * NEWS: Added some more 0.99 news.
  36. * configure.ac: bump to 0.99.1 (0.99.0 was never released except
  37. via CVS snapshots)
  38. 2005-04-25 Paul Jakma <paul.jakma@sun.com>
  39. * HACKING: Add some notes about build system changes, to
  40. document common oversights (common for me anyway).
  41. Seperate sections with two newlines, easier to read.
  42. 2005-04-16 Andrew J. Schorr <ajschorr@alumni.princeton.edu>
  43. * configure.ac: Added AC_ARG_ENABLE(time-check). By default,
  44. warning messages will now be printed for threads or commands that take
  45. longer than 5 seconds, but this configure argument can be used
  46. to disable the checks or change the threshold.
  47. 2005-04-16 Paul Jakma <paul.jakma@sun.com>
  48. * configure.ac: check for gawk, needed to build memtypes.h
  49. 2005-04-11 Andrew J. Schorr <ajschorr@alumni.princeton.edu>
  50. * configure.ac: Move AC_CANONICAL_* stuff before AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE to
  51. eliminate warning message about AC_ARG_PROGRAM being called
  52. before AC_CANONICAL_TARGET.
  53. 2005-04-11 Paul Jakma <paul.jakma@sun.com>
  54. * configure.ac: Call AC_CANONICAL_{BUILD,TARGET} macros. Target isnt
  55. set otherwise, afaict. AC_SUBST enable_{user,group,vty_group} and
  56. quagga_statedir - the Solaris package bits for one need this.
  57. configure the solaris/ Makefile.
  58. * Makefile.am: solaris is a subdir - unconditional or else it wont
  59. be included in non-solaris made dists.
  60. 2005-04-10 Paul Jakma <paul.jakma@sun.com>
  61. * configure.ac: Fix host string recognition for Solaris Nevada aka
  62. solaris2.10.1, and hopefully future such strings.
  63. 2005-04-07 Paul Jakma <paul.jakma@sun.com>
  64. * (global): Fix up list loops to match changes in lib/linklist,
  65. and some basic auditing of usage.
  66. * configure.ac: define QUAGGA_NO_DEPRECATED_INTERFACES
  67. * HACKING: Add notes about deprecating interfaces and commands.
  68. 2005-04-05 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  69. * HACKING: remove the 'manually patch redhat/quagga.spec' bit
  70. from RELEASE section. Let the rpm revision be CONFDATE, will work
  71. fine. Expand on the importance of supplying good ChangeLog's in
  72. the PATCH SUBMISSION section.
  73. 2005-04-04 Hasso Tepper <hasso at quagga.net>
  74. * configure.ac: Fix AC_LANG_SOURCE usage. It needs double square
  75. brackets around source. Single ones broke square brackets in the
  76. code (arrays).
  77. 2005-04-03 Hasso Tepper <hasso at quagga.net>
  78. * configure.ac: Use AC_RUN_IFELSE instead of obsolete AC_TRY_RUN macro
  79. and define action for cross-compiling.
  80. 2005-04-02 Hasso Tepper <hasso at quagga.net>
  81. * configure.ac: Add --enable-isis-topology to enable isisd topology
  82. generator code.
  83. 2005-04-02 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  84. * INSTALL.quagga.txt: Add note about additional CVS build
  85. requirements, if one wishes to build ps/pdf docs.
  86. 2005-04-02 Andrew J. Schorr <ajschorr@alumni.princeton.edu>
  87. * configure.ac: Add strnlen to AC_CHECK_FUNCS.
  88. 2005-03-28 Hasso Tepper <hasso at quagga.net>
  89. * configure.ac, */Makefile.am: Fix previous commit. SNMP includes
  90. must be after lib/ includes in some systems. Introduce SNMP_INCLUDES
  91. for that.
  92. 2005-03-28 Hasso Tepper <hasso at quagga.net>
  93. * configure.ac: Fix most of "Presents But Cannot Compiled" warnings
  94. about various headers. CFLAGS is not correct place to specify
  95. includes, INCLUDES is for that.
  96. 2005-03-27 Hasso Tepper <hasso at quagga.net>
  97. * configure.ac: Add Intel compiler (icc) support. Although Intel
  98. tries really hard to make icc look like gcc, there are some
  99. differences. It's very verbose with -Wall and it doesn't support
  100. the individual -W options. We are going to ignore some of these
  101. warnings.
  102. 2005-03-26 Hasso Tepper <hasso at quagga.net>
  103. * doc/defines.texi.in, lib/version.h.in: Update copyright string to
  104. include year 2005.

  109. * (global) update all c files to match the lib/vector.h rename of
  110. (struct vector).active to max, and vector_max macro to
  111. vector_active.
  112. 2005-03-12 Paul Jakma <paul.jakma@sun.com>
  113. * configure.ac: Solaris 8 can use the newer lifreq based methods
  114. too, allows IPv6.
  115. 2005-02-19 Hasso Tepper <hasso at quagga.net>
  116. * configure.ac: Fix Linux detection. Host types like i686-pc-linux
  117. didn't match the pattern.
  118. 2005-02-09 Paul Jakma <paul.jakma@sun.com>
  119. * (global) Update code to match stream.h changes.
  120. stream_get_putp effectively replaced with stream_get_endp.
  121. stream_forward renamed to stream_forward_getp.
  122. stream_forward_endp introduced to replace some previous
  123. setting/manual twiddling of putp by daemons.
  124. 2005-01-24 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  125. * configure.ac: Bump version to 0.99.0
  126. 2005-01-15 Andrew J. Schorr <ajschorr@alumni.princeton.edu>
  127. * redhat/quagga.spec.in: Fix postun script to avoid misleading error
  128. message saying the postun scriptlet failed when watchquagga
  129. is not running.
  130. 2005-01-12 Andrew J. Schorr <ajschorr@alumni.princeton.edu>
  131. * configure.ac: Test for header file <ucontext.h> (for use in
  132. signal processing).
  133. 2005-01-12 Andrew J. Schorr <ajschorr@alumni.princeton.edu>
  134. * configure.ac: If configure is invoked with --enable-snmp, but
  135. the configure script is unable to find SNMP support on the platform,
  136. then configure should give an error message and exit.
  137. 2005-01-12 Andrew J. Schorr <ajschorr@alumni.princeton.edu>
  138. * redhat/quagga.spec.in: Pass --enable-gcc-rdynamic to configure
  139. to get gcc to link with -rdynamic for better backtraces.
  140. When the rpm is upgraded, the restart logic now works as follows:
  141. 1. stop watchquagga; 2. stop all routing daemons; 3. restart zebra
  142. if it was running; 4. start all routing daemons that were running;
  143. and 5. start watchquagga if it was running.
  144. 2005-01-07 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>

  148. 2005-01-04 Greg Troxel <gdt@fnord.ir.bbn.com>
  149. * configure.ac: Use AC_MSG_CHECKING/AC_MSG_RESULT around
  150. CMSG_FIRSTHDR check, so it shows up in the output of configure.
  151. Tested on NetBSD, which doesn't define HAVE_BROKEN_CMSG_FIRSTHDR.
  152. 2005-01-04 Andrew J. Schorr <ajschorr@alumni.princeton.edu>
  153. * configure.ac: Added test for broken CMSG_FIRSTHDR macro
  154. (relevant for Solaris 8 and unpatched Solaris 9, don't know
  155. whether other platforms are affected).
  156. 2005-01-04 Andrew J. Schorr <ajschorr@alumni.princeton.edu>

  167. logic to make sure that all daemons are restarted on upgrades
  168. and stopped on package removal.
  169. 2004-12-22 Andrew J. Schorr <ajschorr@alumni.princeton.edu>
  170. * redhat/quagga.sysconfig: Define some variables to support watchquagga.

  189. 2004-11-19 Andrew J. Schorr <ajschorr@alumni.princeton.edu>
  190. * global: Replace strerror with safe_strerror. And vtysh/vtysh.c

  197. 2004-11-12 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  198. * configure.ac: Fix AC_CONFIG_FILES, the chmod seems to run for
  199. every input file, should be only be for vtysh/extract.pl, so that
  200. should be a seperate AC_CONFIG_FILES.

  210. 2004-11-06 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  211. * configure.ac: Arguments to AC_OUTPUT is deprecated, use
  212. AC_CONFIG_FILES instead. Rearrange the order slightly to put the
  213. Makefiles first (silly aesthetic thing, dont know why I had to do
  214. this ;) ). Add doc/defines.texi to the list.
  215. * NEWS: bgp route-server support added, refer to docs.
  216. * update-autotools: call automake with --add-missing and --copy,
  217. former is important for obvious reasons, latter for dist files,
  218. and --gnu to enable whatever extra goodness checks.
  219. * {depcomp, install-sh, missing}: removed, auto-generated files.
  220. 2004-11-05 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  221. * HACKING: Expand on ChangeLogs, eg current practice for certain
  222. directories and certain other meta-data is not to maintain a
  223. ChangeLog. Expand on the commit message, IMHO, commit message
  224. should always be ChangeLog for files where ChangeLog is kept.
  225. Solaris is supported on any platform (with, at moment, an
  226. additional patch).
  227. 2004-10-23 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>

  239. 2004-10-11 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  240. * bump version to 0.97.1, release imminent.
  241. 2004-10-07 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>

  245. 2004-10-05 Hasso Tepper <hasso at quagga.net>
  246. * configure.ac: Removed -Wpadded. I don't have sooo much time that I
  247. could care about padding ;).
  248. 2004-09-30 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  249. * Update default CFLAGS for gcc to keep Hasso busy.
  250. 2004-09-27 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  251. * update-autotools: libtoolize should copy files, rather than link.
  252. the whole idea is that dist files should not need auto*, etc.
  253. installed to be able to compile.
  254. 2004-09-13 Hasso Tepper <hasso at quagga.net>
  255. * configure.ac: Disable isisd compiling by default.
  256. 2004-09-13 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>

  258. it for PACKAGE_TARNAME.
  259. 2004-09-13 Jose Luis Rubio <jrubio@dit.upm.es>
  260. (at Technical University of Madrid as part of Euro6ix Project)
  261. Enhanced Route Server functionality and Route-Maps:
  262. * bgpd/bgpd.h: Modified 'struct peer' and 'struct bgp_filter' to
  263. support rs-clients. A 'struct bgp_table *rib' has been added to the
  264. first (to mantain a separated RIB for each rs-client) and two new
  265. route-maps have been added to the last (for import/export policies).
  266. Added the following #defines: RMAP_{IN|OUT|IMPORT|EXPORT|MAX},
  267. PEER_RMAP_TYPE_{IMPORT|EXPORT} and BGP_CLEAR_SOFT_RSCLIENT.
  268. * bgpd/bgpd.c: Modified the functions that create/delete/etc peers in
  269. order to consider the new fields included in 'struct peer' for
  270. supporting rs-clients, i.e. the import/export route-maps and the
  271. 'struct bgp_table'.
  272. * bgpd/bgp_route.{ch}: Modified several functions related with
  273. receiving/sending announces in order to support the new Route Server
  274. capabilities.
  275. Function 'bgp_process' has been reorganized, creating an auxiliar
  276. function for best path selection ('bgp_best_selection').
  277. Modified 'bgp_show' and 'bgp_show_route' for displaying information
  278. about any RIB (and not only the main bgp RIB).
  279. Added commands for displaying information about RS-clients RIBs:
  280. 'show bgp rsclient (A.B.C.D|X:X::X:X)', 'show bgp rsclient
  281. (A.B.C.D|X:X::X:X) X:X::X:X/M', etc
  282. * bgpd/bgp_table.{ch}: The structure 'struct bgp_table' now has two
  283. new fields: type (which can take the values BGP_TABLE_{MAIN|RSCLIENT})
  284. and 'void *owner' which points to 'struct bgp' or 'struct peer' which
  285. owns the table.
  286. When creating a new bgp_table by default 'type=BGP_TABLE_MAIN' is set.
  287. * bgpd/bgp_vty.c: The commands 'neighbor ... route-server-client' and
  288. 'no neighbor ... route-server-client' now not only set/unset the flag
  289. PEER_FLAG_RSERVER_CLIENT, but they create/destroy the 'struct
  290. bgp_table' of the peer. Special actions are taken for peer_groups.
  291. Command 'neighbor ... route-map WORD (in|out)' now also supports two
  292. new kinds of route-map: 'import' and 'export'.
  293. Added commands 'clear bgp * rsclient', etc. These commands allow a new
  294. kind of soft_reconfig which affects only the RIB of the specified
  295. RS-client.
  296. Added commands 'show bgp rsclient summary', etc which display a
  297. summary of the rs-clients configured for the corresponding address
  298. family.
  299. * bgpd/bgp_routemap.c: A new match statement is available,
  300. 'match peer (A.B.C.D|X:X::X:X)'. This statement can only be used in
  301. import/export route-maps, and it matches when the peer who announces
  302. (when used in an import route-map) or is going to receive (when used
  303. in an export route-map) the route is the same than the one specified
  304. in the statement.
  305. For peer-groups the statement matches if the specified peer is member
  306. of the peer-group.
  307. A special version of the command, 'match peer local', matches with
  308. routes originated by the Route Server (defined with 'network ...',
  309. redistributed routes and default-originate).
  310. * lib/routemap.{ch}: Added a new clause 'call NAME' for use in
  311. route-maps. It jumps into the specified route-map and when it returns
  312. the first route-map ends if the called RM returns DENY_MATCH, or
  313. continues in other case.
  314. 2004-08-31 Greg Troxel <gdt@poblano.ir.bbn.com>
  315. * Makefile.am: make m4 as subdir, rather the EXTRA_DISTing it
  316. * configure.ac: add m4/Makefile to output list
  317. 2004-08-31 Greg Troxel <gdt@poblano.ir.bbn.com>
  318. * Makefile.am: Only put pkgsrc dir in SUBDIRS if we should install
  319. rc.d files. (Note that pkgsrc is always in DIST_SUBDIRS.)
  320. * configure.ac (pkgsrcdir): add new --enable-pkgsrcrcdir to give a
  321. directory into which www.pkgsrc.org-style rc.d files are
  322. installed.
  323. 2004-08-19 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  324. * Makefile.am: add m4 directory to EXTRA_DIST, and define
  325. ACLOCAL_AMFLAGS to have aclocal pull in m4/
  326. * configure.ac: AM_PROG_LIBTOOL should be AC_...
  327. * update-autotools: print a warning that this script is deprecated
  328. 2004-08-17 Greg Troxel <gdt@fnord.ir.bbn.com>
  329. * update-autotools: print tools versions to aid people in sending
  330. bug reports.
  331. 2004-07-23 Greg Troxel <gdt@poblano.ir.bbn.com>
  332. * */Makefile.am: Use ../dir/libfoo.la, rather than "-L../dir
  333. -lfoo", to avoid linking against installed libraries from a
  334. previous version.
  335. * {lib,ospfd,ospfclient}/Makefile.am: explicitly define the shared
  336. library version number to be 0.0
  337. * configure.ac: remove spurious , so extract.pl is chmod'd +x.
  338. * HACKING: explain shared library versioning rules
  339. 2004-07-22 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  340. * configure.ac: modify default CFLAGS to be compiler agnostic
  341. build Makefile for tests/ subdir.
  342. 2004-07-14 Greg Troxel <gdt@poblano.ir.bbn.com>
  343. * Makefile.am (EXTRA_DIST): Add missing \, so tools stuff is
  344. really in distfile.
  345. 2004-06-30 Greg Troxel <gdt@poblano.ir.bbn.com>
  346. * */Makefile.am: use -L../lib -lzebra, so we pick up the shlib
  347. version of libzebra when available.
  348. * configure.ac, update-autotools: Add libtool.
  349. 2004-06-30 Greg Troxel <gdt@poblano.ir.bbn.com>
  350. * Makefile.am: add files to EXTRA_DIST rather than copying, and
  351. omit the kludgy cleaning steps, which were failing when the list
  352. to clean was empty.
  353. 2004-06-30 Greg Troxel <gdt@poblano.ir.bbn.com>
  354. * configure.ac: Look for perl, and substitute into vtysh/extract.pl.
  355. Search for termcap functions more expansively (fixes vtysh compile
  356. on NetBSD). Clean up --enable-vtysh definition.
  357. 2004-06-30 Greg Troxel <gdt@poblano.ir.bbn.com>
  358. * update-autotools: Use -rf on autom4te.cache.
  359. 2004-06-20 Hasso Tepper <hasso@estpak.ee>
  360. * lib/vty.c: Don't attempt to load configuration file from current
  361. directory.
  362. * Update vty_read_config() calls in bgpd/bgp_main.c, isisd/isis_main.c,
  363. ospf6d/ospf6_main.c, ospfd/ospf_main.c, ripd/rip_main.c,
  364. ripngd/ripng_main.c and zebra/main.c.
  365. 2004-05-11 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  366. * configure.ac: Add solaris support for the zebra/*_solaris
  367. method's, based on Sowmini's patches.
  368. 2004-04-08 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  369. * ospf_spf.h: Add backlink field to struct vertex
  370. * ospf_spf.h: (ospf_vertex_new) initialise backlink
  371. (ospf_lsa_has_link) return index of link back to
  372. vertex V from candidate vertex W, or -1 if no link exists.
  373. (ospf_spf_next) save backlink index for candidate vertex
  374. * ospf_interface.c: (ospf_vl_set_params) Use the backlink index
  375. to determine correct address for virtual-link peers. Fall back
  376. to older "pick first link" method if no backlink index exists.
  377. 2004-04-06 Hasso Tepper <hasso@estpak.ee>
  378. * zebra/ipforward_proc.c: Fixed lowering privileges.
  379. * zebra/zserv.c: Fixed "(no) ipv6 forwarding" command logic.
  380. * configure.ac: Added --disable-capabilities switch to configure.
  381. 2004-03-22 Hasso Tepper <hasso@estpak.ee>
  382. * Readded SIGTERM handling so daemons can clean up their stuff if they
  383. are killed (not murdered).
  384. 2004-03-20 Michael Bruening <mike@vailsys.com>
  385. * ospfd/ospf_vty.c: Completed array distribute_str of route types with
  386. addition of "isis". This array must be indexed by
  387. ZEBRA_ROUTE_(SYSTEM|KERNEL|...) defines in zebra.h, and should
  388. be updated with every route type addition. This fix allows
  389. commands redistributing routes from (bgp|isis), like "router ospf
  390. redistribute bgp ...", to be written to terminal, memory, file,
  391. which would otherwise result in a seg fault or, possibly, config
  392. file corruption. Overlooked in import of isisd.
  393. * Similar fixes to bgpd/bgp_vty.c ospf6d/ospf6_asbr.c ripd/rip_zebra.c
  394. and ripngd/ripng_zebra.c.
  395. 2004-03-17 Jean-Yves Simon <lethalwp@tiscali.be>
  396. * zebra/main.c, ripd/rip_main.c: Fix typos sigusr1 -> sigint,
  397. bugzilla #82.
  398. 2004-03-16 David Young <dyoung@pobox.com>
  399. * (many) reference <lib/version.h> rather than "version.h",
  400. because version.h is a generated file and not present in the
  401. source tree when using objdir builds.
  402. 2004-03-03 PC Drew <pc@superiorcomm.net>
  403. * lib/keychain.c: typecast time_t function to long, fixes compile
  404. warning.
  405. * lib/debug.c: wrapped function with ifdef HAVE_GLIBC_BACKTRACE fixes
  406. compile warning when backtrace doesn't exist for that system.

  408. netinet/icmp6.h
  409. * zebra/zserv.c: added default case to switch statements, fixes compile
  410. warning about certain NEXTHOP_TYPE enumeration values not being
  411. handled.

  425. friends, fixes compile warning.
  426. * ospf6d/ospf6_damp.c: typecast time_t to long in 4 instances, fixes
  427. compile warning.
  428. * ospf6d/ospf6_main.c: use MAXPATHLEN (if set) instead of 64 for the
  429. _cwd array, fixes compile warning.
  430. 2004-01-19 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  431. * tests/test-sig.c: New file, regression test for sigevents.
  432. * lib/Makefile.am: add sigevent.{c,h}
  433. * (isis|rip|ripng|ospf|ospf6|bgp)d/\1_main.c: modify for sigevents.
  434. * zebra/main.c: ditto.
  435. 2004-01-10 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  436. * Makefile.am: redhat/ is a dist subdir too.
  437. 2004-01-10 Vincent Jardin <jardin@6wind.com>
  438. * configure.ac: add the redhat/Makefile as a AC_OUTPUT() argument.
  439. It fixes build on FreeBSD 5.1 and FreeBSD 4.7
  440. 2004-01-08 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  441. * Makefile.am: as per gdt, specify the redhat dir as a DIST_SUBDIR,
  442. remove the redhat/... dist targets - instead these now go in..
  443. redhat/Makefile.am: (new) proper place to describe redhat/ dist
  444. files, as well as allow quagga.spec to be regenerated properly.
  445. redhat/quagga.sysconfig: specify conf file location.
  446. redhat/quagga.spec.in: Add 2 patches to RPM build.
  447. 2003-12-30 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  448. * redhat/isisd.init: new file, init script for isisd.
  449. redhat/quagga.sysconfig: new file, sysconfig file for quagga
  450. initscripts.
  451. redhat/quagga.spec.in: various cleanups, including sysconfig patch
  452. from RH, fixed UID/GID as per RH EL, shell changed to
  453. /sbin/nologin, daemon vty's listen to 127.1 only per default and
  454. isisd packaged.
  455. redhat/*.init: sysconfig support and runlevels specified.
  456. 2003-12-30 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  457. * Makefile.am: put the redhat/ stuff into EXTRA_DIST rather than
  458. copying via dist-hook. Remove ~ files backup cruft from dists.
  459. isisd/Makefile.am: sysconf example should go via
  460. dist_examples_DATA. The include-netbsd/ headers werent mentioned
  461. as sources and werent being copied into dists.
  462. 2003-12-23 Vincent Jardin <jardin@6wind.com>
  463. * isisd: Import isisd from Sampo Saaristo's source code.
  464. 2003-12-22 Christian Hammers <ch@lathspell.de>
  465. * configure.ac (and everywhere a regular file is opened for
  466. writing): use file permissions from configure rather than
  467. compiled-in umask.
  468. 2003-12-22 Hasso Tepper <hasso@estpak.ee>
  469. * lib/linklist.c: Revert microfix I commited while reverting
  470. [quagga-dev 227]. Caused by misreading code.
  471. 2003-12-21 Hasso Tepper <hasso@estpak.ee>
  472. * lib/linklist.c: Revert patch [quagga-dev 227]. listnode_add_sort()
  473. function should not drop nodes in any case. But fix behavior where
  474. nodes were added to the end of list when cmp returned 0.
  475. * lib/if.c: Check for duplicates before calling listnode_add_sort().
  476. 2003-12-08 Greg Troxel <gdt@fnord.ir.bbn.com>
  477. * {lib,ospfd,ospfapi}/Makefile.am: Use pkginclude_HEADERS rather
  478. than include_HEADERS to place includes in
  479. ${prefix}/include/quaggainstead of polluting ${prefix}/include.
  480. 2003-12-04 Greg Troxel <gdt@poblano.ir.bbn.com>
  481. * configure.ac: When setting exampledir to sysconfdir as a
  482. default, don't quote ${sysconfdir}. (Bug reported by Vincent
  483. Jardin.)
  484. 2003-12-03 Greg Troxel <gdt@poblano.ir.bbn.com>
  485. * configure.ac: Compile in Router Advertisement support by
  486. default. Note that this does not default to sending RAs; it just
  487. makes 'ipv6 nd send-ra' and 'ipv6 nd prefix-advertisement'
  488. available. While others may prefer other tools, no argument has
  489. been made that router advertisement support is such bloat that it
  490. should be compiled out by default (it 9556 bytes on NetBSD/i386 vs
  491. 8 bytes with the support compiled out). This reversion of a
  492. previous change was done in consultation with Paul.
  493. 2003-12-03 Greg Troxel <gdt@poblano.ir.bbn.com>
  494. * configure.ac: Move tests for v6 header files to after the check
  495. for v6 code version, and conditionalize on the right variable.
  496. (Fixes problem where v6 header files are not included when v6 is
  497. enabled implicitly.)
  498. 2003-12-03 Greg Troxel <gdt@poblano.ir.bbn.com>
  499. * configure.ac: Add --enable-exampledir to specify where example
  500. config files should go, defaulting to sysconfdir.
  501. * */Makefile.am: use exampledir instead of sysconfdif for examples
  502. 2003-11-02 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  503. * bgpd/bgp_routemap.c: Fix up 'set ip next-hop A.B.C.D|peer-address'
  504. route map command so that vtysh can use it. Modified version of
  505. Hasso Tepper's patch. Fixes bug #52.
  506. * configure.ac: FreeBSD has net-snmp in /usr/local.
  507. * redhat/quagga.spec.in: Install libzebra headers with -devel
  508. package.
  509. 2003-11-02 Krzysztof Oledzki <oleq@ans.pl>
  510. * zebra/zebra_rib.c: Revert patch (dating from zebra.org) which
  511. caused zebra to read all routes in all tables, rather than just
  512. the main table. See [quagga-dev 280].
  513. 2003-10-30 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  514. * configure.ac: netinet/in_systm.h is yet another well-known
  515. header file we really should be checking for
  516. 2003-10-27 kamatchi soundaram <kamatchi@tdd.sj.nec.com>
  517. * ospfd/ospfd.c: Do not increment act_int for an area, as it is done
  518. by ospf_ism.c::ism_change_state() - results in incorrect figure
  519. for active interfaces in an area.
  520. 2003-10-27 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  521. * lib/if.{ch}: remove ifc_pointtopoint() - left over from the
  522. reverted RFC3021 patch.
  523. 2003-10-27 Simon <lists@routemeister.net>
  524. * ospfd/ospfd.c: if_is_pointopoint() takes (struct interface *), was
  525. being called with struct connected. Change to co->ifp.
  526. 2003-10-27 Gilad Arnold <gilad.arnold@terayon.com>
  527. * zebra/zebra_rib.c: (nexthop_active_update) Check for multipath
  528. limit when setting changed flag to avoid spurious changes.
  529. (static_install_ipv{4,6}) dont uninstall by default, might not be
  530. required - avoid spurious uninstalls.
  531. (static_uninstall_ipv{4,6}) only uninstall the route if its
  532. actually FIB route.
  533. 2003-10-24 sowmini.varadhan@sun.com
  534. * ospfd/ospf_network.c: (ospf_sock_init) Exit if socket can not be
  535. created.
  536. 2003-10-24 Jose Luis Rubio Guivernau <jrubio@dit.upm.es>
  537. * Better 'show bgp' support for views (eg ipv6), see [quagga-dev 238]
  538. * bgpd/bgp_route.c: (bgp_show) Take a struct bgp argument instead of
  539. view string.
  540. (bgp_show_neighbor_route) Take a struct peer argument instead of
  541. ip string.
  542. (peer_adj_routes) ditto
  543. (show_adj_routes) ditto
  544. (peer_lookup_in_view) new function to return appropriate struct
  545. peer for a given view string.
  546. (misc) Fixup all calls to above to reflect new calling arguments,
  547. and use peer_lookup_in_view as needed. Additional commands
  548. installed to use expanded functionality above, existing commands
  549. modified to suit as well.
  550. * bgpd/bgp_vty.c: 2 new aliases.
  551. 2003-10-24 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  552. * configure.ac: Check for fcntl()
  553. * {bgpd,ospf,ospf6d,ripd,ripngd}/Makefile.am: Install conf file via
  554. regular automake means, not magic install incantations, see
  555. bug #38.
  556. * lib/Makefile.am: install the headers, needed to link libzebra.a
  557. (and hence libospf.a, OSPF-API, etc.)
  558. 2003-10-24 waldi@debian.org
  559. * vtysh/Makefile.am: vtysh_cmd.c rebuild was broken because it
  560. depended against source files without specification, i.e. it
  561. used ../zebra instead of $(top_srcdir)/zebra.
  562. 2003-10-23 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  563. * configure.ac: IRIX configure.ac support. Sort of works.
  564. sysctl() crashes though (ipforward), there's some kind of odd
  565. padding in the PF_ROUTE socket messages and setsockopt() on
  566. SOCK_RAW does not work (so ospfd doesnt work).
  567. 2003-10-22 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  568. * vtysh/Makefile.am: do not include vtysh_cmd.c in dists, its
  569. configure dependent. (still need to find a way to make building of
  570. it dependent on configure options or include all commands.)
  571. 2003-10-22 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  572. * lib/zebra.h: include limits.h if its there, its a portable header
  573. and useful and not just solaris specific. net/route.h is also
  574. useful.
  575. 2003-10-22 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  576. * lib/regex.c: bzero -> memset
  577. * zebra/ioctl.c: ditto. bzero is not portable.
  578. 2003-10-22 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  579. * zebra/kernel_socket.c: HAVE_IPV6 conditional for WRAPUP when
  580. HAVE_SA_LEN is not defined. bcopy -> memcpy, bcopy is not
  581. portable.
  582. 2003-10-22 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  583. * configure.ac: Split up header checks into non-net, net and ipv6
  584. related. Checking of IPv6 is conditional. Add some more output
  585. text for the end of the configure run.
  586. 2003-10-18 Lorenzo Colitti <lorenzo@ripe.net>
  587. * bgpd/bgp_attr.c: (bgp_dump_routes_attr) Dont dump IPv4 nexthop
  588. for IP. Dump MP_NLRI attr with IPv6 next-hop for AF_INET6 address
  589. family prefixes. Accept prefix as argument.
  590. * bgpd/bgp_attr.c: modify bgp_dump_routes_attr declaration.
  591. * bgpd/bgp_dump.c: (bgp_dump_routes_entry) Modify calls to
  592. bgp_dump_routes_attr.
  593. (bgp_dump_common) Go by the family of the peering socket, not
  594. configured address family when dumping peering information.
  595. Add HAVE_IPV6 conditionals, eg missing from previous bgp interval
  596. patch.
  597. 2003-10-18 Lorenzo Colitti <lorenzo@ripe.net>
  598. * bgpd/bgp_dump.{c,h}: (bgp_dump_interval_add) Dump at discrete
  599. fixed intervals rather than fixed intervals from startup time.
  600. (bgp_dump_interval_func) Dont return immediately if file cant be
  601. openeded, but reschedule interval dumps, even - admin might
  602. fix problem in meantime. Close the dump file in between intervals.
  603. (bgp_dump_init) account for MSG header when initialising stream
  604. size.
  605. 2003-10-15 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  606. * ospfd/ospf_interface: (ospf_if_lookup_table) new function to
  607. lookup oi for a given prefix in a given interfaces table of oi's.
  608. (ospf_if_new) use ospf_if_lookup_table to deal with zebra
  609. reporting new interface multiple times.
  610. NB: This patch is a complete plaster-band of a hack. First, why is
  611. zebra reporting interface events multiple times? Second, why does
  612. ospfd maintain so many damn lists and tables relating to oi's -
  613. these should be reconciled into one or two tables.
  614. 2003-10-15 sowmini.varadhan@sun.com
  615. * ripd/ripd.c: (rip_send_packet) use rip->sock for mcast sends,
  616. instead of creating one socket per send. send source addr to
  617. rip_update_interface.
  618. (rip_update_process) should send an update on every connected
  619. network for each interface.
  620. (rip_request_send) should send a request on every connected
  621. network for each interface.
  622. * ripd/ripd.h: update prototype for rip_interface_multicast_set
  623. * ripd/rip_interface.c: (rip_interface_multicast_set) reorganized
  624. so that it can be called repeatedly for aliased interfaces (on
  625. multiple networks).
  626. 2003-10-15 Jay Fenlason <fenlason@redhat.com>
  627. * lib/vty.c: (vty_telnet_option) Remote DoS exists if a telnet
  628. end-sub-negotation is sent when no sub-negotation data has been
  629. sent. Return immediately if no sub-negotation is in progress.
  630. (vty_read) do not attempt to process options if no sub-negotation
  631. is in progress.
  632. 2003-10-15 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  633. * lib/vty.c: (vty_save_cwd) dont crash if getcwd fails. try fallback
  634. to SYSCONFDIR. Allocate cwd from the stack rather than relying on
  635. (non-portable) getcwd() allocation (which we didnt seem to be
  636. freeing).
  637. 2003-10-13 Jay Fenlason <fenlason@redhat.com>
  638. * lib/zebra.h: define UINT32_MAX for those systems which do not
  639. provide it.
  640. * bgp_attr.h: define BGP_MED_MAX.
  641. * bgp_route.c: update defines/constants to BGP_MED_MAX.
  642. * bgp_routemap.c: ditto. clean up route_match_metric_compile
  643. slightly to avoid unneccesary XMALLOC.
  644. 2003-10-13 sowmini.varadhan@sun.com
  645. * ospf_lsa.h: Add OSPF_LSA_PREMATURE_AGE flag.
  646. * ospf_lsa.c: added better debug comments. check sequence number in
  647. ospf_lsa_install. ospf_maxage_lsa_remover() checks for
  648. OSPF_LSA_PREMATURE_AGE and re-originates the lsa after ls_acks are
  649. received.
  650. * ospf_flood.c: improve debug statement- print ls_seqnum.
  651. 2003-10-13 Douglas Fraser <doug+quagga@idmf.net>
  652. * zebra/connected.c: PtP revert fixup. Zebra was not creating
  653. connected route for PtP peer.
  654. 2003-10-07 Tarhon-Onu Victor <mituc@iasi.rdsnet.ro>
  655. * zebra/ipforward_proc.c: (ipforward) Close the fd for
  656. /proc/net/snmp. See [quagga-dev 284]
  657. 2003-09-29 Gilad Arnold <gilad.arnold@terayon.com>
  658. * zebra/zebra_rib.c: Fix possible dangling reference to rib
  659. route_nodes - unlock it the appropriate number of times. (twice,
  660. because of the implicit lock). see [quagga-dev 251].
  661. 2003-09-29 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  662. * zebra/connected.c: revert the 'generic PtP' patch as it causes
  663. far too many problems. People who use FreeSWAN should investigate
  664. native linux ipsec.
  665. * zebra/rt_netlink.c: ditto
  666. * lib/if.c: ditto
  667. * ripd/ripd.h: ditto
  668. * ripd/ripd.c: ditto
  669. * ripd/rip_interface.c: ditto
  670. * ospfd/ospfd.c: ditto
  671. * ospfd/ospf_snmp.c: ditto
  672. * bgpd/bgp_nexthop.c: ditto
  673. * ospfd/ospf_packet.c: Add debug output for some of the previously
  674. completely silent drops of 'bad' packets.
  675. * configure.ac: bump version
  676. 2003-08-27 Jay Fenlason <fenlason@redhat.com>
  677. * lib/Makefile.am: Do not use a lib (libcap) as a dependency
  678. * zebra/Makefile.am: Link in libcap
  679. * bgpd/bgp_routemap.c: attr->med is type u_in32_t, should be
  680. compared with UINT32_MAX
  681. * ospfd/ospfd.c: remove redundant assert
  682. * zebra/rtadv.c: add missing include for zebra/rib.h
  683. 2003-09-24 Paul Jakma <paul@dishone.st>
  684. * lib/version.h: moved to version.h.in
  685. * lib/version.h.in: New file, from version.h. Change hardcoded
  686. package name and version to use the autoconf defined substition
  687. variables.
  688. * configure.ac: Fix up AC/AM_INIT* to new style. Remove the sed'ing
  689. through lib/version.h for VERSION. Add lib/version.h to the
  690. AC_OUTPUT list. Update the text output of quagga version at end
  691. of configure run to use PACKAGE_VERSION.
  692. * doc/.cvsignore: ignore quagga.pdf
  693. * doc/.cvsignore: ignore version.h, its now autogenerated.
  694. 2003-09-24 sowmini.varadhan@sun.com
  695. * lib/if.c: (if_cmp_func) fix infinite loop if
  696. ifp1->name == ifp2->name
  697. * lib/linklist.c: (if_cmp_func) Fix handling of case where
  698. list->cmp returns 0.
  699. * rip_interface.c: (rip_interface_address_add) call
  700. rip_enable_apply(), or the interface is never considered up.
  701. see [quagga-dev 225].
  702. * zebra/kernel_socket.c: Fix up WRAPUP macro to deal with multiple
  703. address families in the absence of sa_len element in struct
  704. sockaddr.
  705. (ifm_read): Handle solaris 9 if_msghdr_t.
  706. Deal with interfaces which are incomplete, lookup on name rather
  707. than the placeholder interface index of -1.
  708. 2003-09-24 Thomas Giger TGC <thomas.giger@tgc.de>
  709. * ospf_packet.c (ospf_associate_packet_vl): pass NULL struct
  710. interface to ospf_if_lookup_by_local_addr() rather than the
  711. receiving interface ifp, packets for VL's could come in any
  712. interface. See quagga-dev 250.

  1034. 1999-03-02 Peter Galbavy <Peter.Galbavy@knowledge.com>
1035. * reworked include file structure, and configure so that all
1036. source files get all system-dependent include files by including
1037. <zebra.h> which is really lib/zebra.h. This means that the
1038. different programs include files are now available as #include
1039. "zebra/zebra.h" - note the use of quotes, not <> as delimiters.
1040. In practical terms, if I haven't really screwed up, the main file
1041. that maintainers for other OSes have to change is lib/zebra.h for
1042. all the conditional includes etc.
1043. * added --disable-pthread for those systems that seem to have
1044. POSIX threads, but do not work. OpenBSD 2.4+ is like that just
1045. now. Changed all occurance of #ifdef PTHREAD to use HAVE_PTHREAD
  1046. instead.

  1050. * Added ospf6d directory support.
  1051. 1999-02-22 Peter Galbavy <Peter.Galbavy@knowledge.com>
1052. * added a "log" element to the BGPd peer structure, enabling us to
1053. start thinging about a log stream per peer. This is currently
1054. ignored by the wrapper code, but developers should try to use the
1055. "appropriate" ZLOG stream. Documentation will follow, when the
1056. real routines start to exist.
1057. The current plan is to use a copy of the BSD syslog() routines and
1058. replace the syslog library function with our own. I will need
1059. feedback from users of other platforms as this work is done to see
1060. if all is well elsewhere.
1061. * preliminary work on zlog() library. directly replaces syslog()
1062. currently with zlog(ZLOG *, ...) where the new first argument
1063. is a pointer to a ZLOG structure (defined in lib/log.h) and will
1064. encapsulate all the information necessary to maintain multiple
  1065. logging streams.
  1066. 1999-02-19 Peter Galbavy <Peter.Galbavy@knowledge.com>
1067. * added vsnprintf() macro to lib/str.h if required and removed
  1068. #ifdef SUNOS_5 dependency on it
  1069. 1999-02-18 Peter Galbavy <Peter.Galbavy@knowledge.com>

  1078. * configure.in: Check /usr/inet6/lib/libinet6.a exists or not.
  1079. 1998-10-14 Kunihiro Ishiguro <kunihiro@zebra.org>
  1080. * configure.in: Comment out FreeBSD's libc_r detect section. At
1081. this moment it doesn't work correctly with zebra.
